I grew up in Okanogan County and graduated from Okanogan High School in 1996. I attended farrier school at Walla Walla Communtity College. I married the love of my life, Lesli Henneman, in 1999. We moved to Stephenville Texas immediately after getting married. We were young, totally broke, and on our own. One day we were sitting in a laundry mat washing clothes and we saw an add for an Animal Control Officer with the City of Stephenville TX. I immediately applied and was hired. This began my law enforcement career. I worked closely with the Police and I could see that I had a passion for the work. I eventually approached the Chief of Police and told him that I wanted to be a Police Officer. He had faith in me. He hired me as a new Patrolman and sent me to the Police Academy. I graduated the Academy in 2001. I was still in field training when 9-11 occurred. I’ll never forget that day! My law enforcement career took off. I have always loved this career and I pursue it with everything I have. I served in Stephenville as an acting Sergeant, FTO, and Defensive Tactics instructor. In 2003 Lesli and I decided to start a family. We desired to move home around family and our roots to raise children. I was hired by Omak Police Department in May of 2004. This was when my career really began. I started as a patrolman with the city of Omak. before long I was serving as a driving instructor and a Field Training Officer. In 2009 I was appointed as a Detective with the Omak Police Department. It was a very busy time and I had a lot of success closing major cases (vast understatement!). I was then promoted to Sergeant and took on the responsibility of a supervisor. This was really where I learned to be a leader and manager of people. I was blessed to have great people working for me. In 2016 the Chief of Omak Police retired and I applied. I was blessed to be hired to serve Omak as the Chief of Police. I serve with passion, energy, and enthusiasum. I am a dreamer and I like to aim high. I can’t wait to see how far I can help the great citizens of Okanogan County go!
